Globalscape Releases EFT version 7.4.5

We’re excited to unveil our latest set of feature improvements to our Enhanced File Transfer (EFT) platform. This release is all about increasing connectivity. That’s why we are expanding the functionality of our automation as well as our Event Rule functionality to include connectivity with the cloud as well as the ability to automate connections with remote offices.

Easily and Centrally Manage Data Transfers from Hundreds of Remote Locations

Today, in order to automate data transfers between the central MFT location and remote offices, IT must put in place a suitable client-side technology, like an FTP or SFTP client. What follows is a painstaking process of scripting on top of the client application to add automation, log gathering, and other functionalities to get it close to “enterprise ready” state. While this might work in the short term for a small number of systems, replicating it across hundreds of agents is a recipe for maintenance and management disaster. Rolling out any changes or performing updates in setup like this is a manual repetitive process: IT must remote in to one of the systems, update the scripts, test the changes, and then repeat the process across all remote systems.

EFT’s Remote Agent Module (RAM) streamlines this process by providing centralized control for automating transactions from distributed systems. With RAM, you can automate interactions between branch offices and your EFT server residing at a central location. This includes systems like point-of-sale terminals, business partners, field agent laptops, and other remote systems.

Native Integration with Cloud Storage

Many IT teams are moving their IT infrastructure to the cloud to take advantage of numerous business benefits, including agility, cost savings, and scalability. EFT’s Cloud Connector Module (CCM) makes working with data in the cloud a seamless process.

With CCM, you can quickly connect to AWS or Azure storage and move data from on-premises systems to the cloud or from EFT in the cloud to a separate instance of cloud storage. The CCM is an additional action added to EFT’s native Event Rule system. The "Copy/Move file to cloud storage" and "Download file from cloud storage" actions support transfers between EFT and Amazon S3 or Azure Blobs. CCM includes numerous advanced settings, like multi-part encryption, and requestor-pay functionality.

The Cloud Connector Module capabilities include:

  • Automatic copying/moving files arriving at EFT to cloud storage;
  • Timer rules can download files from cloud storage at set intervals; and,
  • Seamless integration with EFT’s other powerful, post-processing engine.

New Features Added to Enhance Person-to-Person File Sharing:

We’ve continued to enhance support for file sharing in the Workspaces module to improve its usability. This release includes the following features:

  • Request File portal: Users can request files from internal and external users
  • Secure Message Body:  Web Transfer Client users can now send a secure message from send, drop-off and reply portal
  • Download all option in pick-up portal: Users can now either download individual files from pick-up portal or download all files with just one click

The release of the RAM and CCM along with file sharing enhancements is another step in Globalscape’s continued efforts to provide new efficiencies for secure and reliable data transfer.
